What is the best way to get around Cyprus?

For most visitors, a combination works best: private transfers for the airport and any intercity hops, plus short local taxis or a one-day rental if you want a specific excursion. A full-week rental is only worth it for road-trippers; the rest of the time it adds parking, fuel and the stress of driving on the left.

Does Cyprus have trains?

No. Cyprus has no passenger rail network. All intercity travel is by road — motorway between the main cities, regular A-roads elsewhere.

Are buses good for travelling between cities?

Intercity buses connect Larnaca, Limassol, Paphos, Nicosia, Ayia Napa and Paralimni. They are cheap and reasonably frequent during the day, but limited at night and on Sundays, and they drop at central stops rather than your hotel.
