The longest of the common Cyprus transfers — and the easiest to get wrong

Paphos to Larnaca is roughly 140 km, the full width of the south coast, and takes about an hour and twenty-five minutes on the A6 and A5 motorways via Limassol. It is a comfortable drive on good roads, but it is long enough that the choice of vehicle genuinely matters: an hour and a half in a well-kept Mercedes with proper air conditioning is a different experience from the same distance in whatever car turns up.

The route serves two distinct destinations that share a name. Some passengers are going to Larnaca city — Finikoudes seafront, the marina district, the old town near Agios Lazaros. Others are going to Larnaca International Airport (LCA), a few kilometres south of the city. Tell us which when you book; the pricing and the timing plan differ.

Flying out of Larnaca when you are staying in Paphos

Plenty of travellers land at Paphos and leave from Larnaca, or choose an LCA departure because the schedule or the fare is better. On a route of this length the buffer matters more than on a short hop: we normally plan the pickup so you reach the terminal around three hours before an international departure, which absorbs a slow stretch near Limassol without any drama.

For arrivals into Paphos Airport we meet you inside the terminal with a name sign and monitor the flight, so a delay simply moves the pickup. The same applies in reverse if you are flying into Larnaca and travelling on to Paphos — the return leg is booked at a fixed price in the same message.

Why the bus is rarely the right answer on this leg

There is no direct public bus that takes you door-to-door from a Paphos hotel to Larnaca or its airport. In practice it means a local bus to the Paphos station, an intercity coach to Limassol, a change, then a second coach onward — several hours with suitcases and multiple points where a delay costs you the connection. A shared airport shuttle avoids the changes but adds pickups and drop-offs along the way.
